Just write down what I think the Theo is trying to do here, see if my guess today will become true :-)
1) After Coco trade, Red Sox got another setup man in the bullpen, so potentially Justin Masterson would be moved to starting pitcher next year
2) Which means Red Sox could be less demanded to Clay Buchhloz, and a possible trade of him to Texas Rangers for Salty. Eitherway, Theo will try to solve the current/future catcher problem this season.
3) So Red Sox is also not that desperate about start pitching. All the rumors about chasing aggresively for AJ Burnett is just for driving up the price for Yankees, in turn Lowe could be a possible signing if pirce is accepted. But don't worry about after Tim retired, there's a guy called Michael Bowden. But basically Yankees would have increase their offer to get CC Sabathia to make sure he won't go to west coast, and also increase offer for AJ. I would say Yankees will eventually get CC, Burnett to go with Wang and Andy Pettite.
4) So what's all these set up for? A huge contract to compete for Mark Tex. Boston defeintely wants him, and now they have money to go after him, and they tried increase Yankee's spense on other position. (Although NYY has too much money). Anyway, i can see Mark Tex comes to Boston, would say 60-70% chance. And I don't think Youk play RF is a good idea. That could happen sometime but not always. If they could find out big deal for Lowell, that will happen soon after they got Mark Tex. But since Lowell just got surgery so there may not be a team wanting him. The solution for Theo may be keeping him play Lowel/Mark/Youk on two positions and wait for Lowell's trading value to increase during the season. Youk could be traded too, since in a few years you have to face to sign Pedroia, Youk, Ellsbury, Papelbon long time. The team may not be able to sign them all anyway. So if they get Tex, the position problem could be solved during next season.
5) Lugo might be traded to Detroit or may not. Theo may keep him till his value increases. Red Sox from manager to batter is just so "patient" for the "strike in the right spot". So Lugo/Lowrie/Pedroia may share 2B and SS.
6) Captain V-Tek might return on a two year deal. 70% chance
So possible line up in later next season

I would say it is .......a really tough line up.....monster
